As we’ve touched on before (see Kalie’s post from last week), many developing countries do not have the same access to important vaccinations as we are lucky to have in the United States. Diseases are even more life-threatening and rampant in such countries, making the eradication of these diseases of the utmost importance. Vaccinations can help do this. Take a look at the GAVI Alliance, an organization that’s aim is: “saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health by increasing access to immunisation in poor countries .” In this video, you’ll see how GAVI is helping prevent pneumonia in Yemen by providing greater access to vaccinations.
